On 8 June 2023, Royal FloraHolland auctioneer Fabienne Rood christened her own chrysanthemum: Fabienne. This festive occasion took place during the cut chrysanthemum trials at Royal Van Zanten in Valkenburg, in the Dutch province of South Holland. But the auctioneer wasn’t asked to christen this intense pink chrysanthemum out of the blue…
Spotted herself
Auctioneer Fabienne Rood has a special bond with the new spray chrysanthemum: she spotted this intense pink variant while visiting a previous flower trial at Royal Van Zanten. And she fell in love with it there and then. But that isn’t the end of the story, as the new spray chrysanthemum now bears her name!
Intense pink eye catcher
Fabienne (VBN number 128186) is a widely-branched spray chrysanthemum with intense pink blooms. These flowers are large and double, making it a real eyecatcher: magnificent in bouquets, but also solo and in arrangements. Unique selling point: the flowers stay fresh and vibrant in colour. Fabienne is also an especially strong chrysanthemum that goes on giving enjoyment for a long time.
From River Flowers and Zentoo
Spray chrysanthemum Fabienne was christened in the presence of the new variety’s proud growers: River Flowers (already producing 25,000 stems per week) and Zentoo (soon to produce 15,000 stems per week). Also present at the christening were a large number of retailers who were very interested in Fabienne.
Fabienne, an intense pink spray chrysanthemum with good resistances that make it perfect for sustainable cultivation. Colour mutants will undoubtedly be available in the near future.
